Each year women begin to carefully curate outfits with one thought in mind. What will go on the holiday photo? What will be that perfect Christmas Card portrait? These photos will be delivered in the time- honored tradition of the United States Postal Service direct to loved ones scattered across the globe. To my clients, you are thinking about how they might look displayed on your Aunts Console TV or Stereo Cabinet.
Fall family portrait season is coming up! Peak Fall foliage is expected over the next 1-3 weeks. Sessions are limited and I do not want anyone to miss out!
You start to think about booking this photo session in late November. Only to be told that rush charges may apply! In your mind, this is still weeks ahead of Christmas. Plenty of time!
Sadly this is not the case. You need to book these photos now, right now. Seriously late October is almost the last minute to book.
When to book your holiday portrait session.
Let’s work backward on a timeline. You want these photos to your loved ones by December 21 for family to enjoy them right? Local postal delivery is guaranteed in eight days during non-peak times. The holiday season is peak time.. So let’s say 10 days. This puts your mail date on Dec 9 (remember no post is processed on Sundays). You need a minimum of two days to hand address them. Dec 7 is the latest you want them back. Lab time is 2 weeks. That means you need to order your portraits no later than November 23!

Let that sink in for a second. November 23.. That is the week before Thanksgiving! Orders placed after Dec 10 do not have guaranteed delivery in time for Christmas.
